There are four octaves of keys - it was a bit of a pain to go to one after another and enter the pitches so I figured I'd share the fruits of my labor. The other controls are just X, Y and XY slider controls that send MIDI CC messages. They're arranged in a "well, let's use up this space and see what happens" pattern. I figure I'll fine tune it after playing it for a while.
Download it here.
UPDATE: I lowered the range by an octave so C3 is on the upper row left, which I think is more sensible. Get it here.
Looks quite handy, thanks Peter!
ReplyDeleteIf I already have Reaktor working with the Frames 2 TouchOSC template that's been floating around, would I need to do anything different in the setup for this to work? For some reason I can't get the keys to trigger midi notes in either the Frames 2 template, or your GM template.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
The TouchOSC template for Frame someone else did doesn't have MIDI set up. My template should trigger notes but you'll have to remap some controllers to OSC signals in the ensemble to control the loop points etc.
ReplyDeleteAre you on Windows or Mac? Do you have wireless MIDI working already?
Hello again!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a mac, and no, I don't have wireless midi working. I do however have the iPad communicating with Ableton Live, and Reaktor on both a wireless and an adhoc network. Is the wireless midi another thing I would need, or is it included in the OSC messages from TouchOSC? I used to use Osculator with Ableton, but I recently made the move to Touch-Able app, and haven't looked back, but TouchOSC is still great for Reaktor.
Do you plan on releasing a template for Paramdrum?
Peter,
ReplyDeleteI decided to actually read the Touch OSC documentation, and made the network session. Everything is working just fine=D
I still have much to learn!
P.S. I have owned Paramdrum for a while now and really like it, so today I bought your sampler pack. I must say, you are a very talented man! Money well spent!
Great, glad things worked out for you, and thanks for the kind words about the sampler pack! I put a lot of effort into making useful instruments and it's great to know they're appreciated.
ReplyDeleteLoupeDirect sells loupes of the highest quality. We sell dental loupes and surgical loupes at reasonable prices.
ReplyDeleteYou are a godsend. I am on windows and your template allowed me to play the notes on all my vsts. Awesome. I have to know how to configure the nobs to work on massive. I used your template in reason and a couple of the knobs moved. It was great. am use rtpmidi for those of you on windows. It sets up pretty easy. I need to know the midi to CC. Is there a chart?
ReplyDeleteDevin, you can open the template in the TouchOSC editor and check or reassign the CC numbers there. Sorry, it never occurred to me to do a chart... by the way, have you tried the TouchOSC bridge on Windows instead of rtpmidi?
